What is the Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) process?

There are dozens of printing processes, but today we will talk about Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM). In numerous sorts of materials, it proves to be the quickest and lower-priced manner to 3D print the objects. Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) is largely used for rapid prototyping, not for production.

During the Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) process, layers of plastic or paper are combined or laminated with the use of heat and pressure, then the layers are slit into the preferred form with a  computer laser.

Though it is not in demand among other 3D printing processes, yet it is the fastest and affordable way to create 3D prototypes.

Materials can be used for LOM Process

This technique is flexible as any material can be glued. During this 3D printing process, layers of adhesive-coated paper, metal, or plastic are consecutively glued together. The most usual material is paper as it splits easily. Other materials like plastic can also be used, and it slashed using a blade or laser. Metallic sheets are unfamiliar as the cutting process is unfamiliar.
